02 — Historical Context

HISTORICAL CONTEXT

According to Suzuki, it introduced aluminium cylinders derived from its Grand Prix works machines, the CCI separate oil-injection system and the first six-speed gearbox on a production motorcycle, and was the first 250 cc machine to reach 100 mph (160 km/h). Suzuki regards it as the forerunner of its global strategic models.

1960s — Business bikes changed daily life while sports models set out for export markets — the decade Japan met the world.
